The Fengyuan Residence, a four-story building, seamlessly blends functionality with minimalist design, built by Shih Ao and designed by Mao, Shen-Chiang Architecture Studio, utilizing fair-faced concrete to showcase its raw beauty and durability. Completed in April 2025, the residence features fair-faced concrete both inside and out, presenting a distinctive aesthetic. The first floor houses a living room, dining area, kitchen, and a tranquil rear courtyard, with large windows allowing natural light to create a harmonious indoor-outdoor space, where the tactile quality of the concrete enhances the purity of the practical design.
The upper floors are thoughtfully designed as living spaces: the second floor includes two bedrooms and a study, while the third floor mirrors this layout with two additional bedrooms and another study, catering to family needs. The fourth floor features a laundry room, a traditional Japanese-style tatami room, and ancillary spaces, adding practicality and cultural charm. The use of fair-faced concrete throughout the building maintains a consistent design style and enhances living comfort. This project exemplifies the craftsmanship of fair-faced concrete construction and the meticulous execution of its techniques, shaping a sleek geometric aesthetic and refined surface finishes.
